Since 1901 - Austria's oldest Wheat Beer Brewery

1999 – 2002

1999 – 2002

The renovation of the 100-year-old brewhouse in 1999 was followed two years later by the reconstruction and extension of the brewery. A new building was erected in Bayerhamerstrasse, in which a new two-vessel brewhouse was installed. The brewhouse has a capacity of 20 hl per brew and is heated with steam, which has a very gentle effect on the boiling of the mash. The basement, most of which is located underneath the garden, houses the manipulation rooms, the fermentation cellar, and the warehouses. The steam is generated by a steam generator operating on city gas.

The bottle washing machine and the bottling machine were replaced as well. They have a capacity of 800 to 1000 bottles per hour. These two machines are operated by two men. Each bottle is individually closed by hand, just like it was done more than 100 years ago.

On the ground floor of the new building is the new kitchen, a garden bar, and the Sudwerk, the name of the beer bar directly next to the copper kettles of the brewery.
