Since 1901 - Austria's oldest Wheat Beer Brewery

1973 – 1986

1973 – 1986

Until 1973, the Rupertihof served as the brewery's inn. When the owners sold the property including the garden and summer bar to the state of Salzburg in 1973, a nurses' home from the Christian Doppler clinic was established in the main building. That is the reason the summer bar had to move its location and how the legendary Bräustüberl pub was created in the garden house of the brewhouse with the support of numerous regular guests.

They all brought pictures, chairs, and tables with them to turn the dull pub into a cozy restaurant. At the time there was hardly a new face to be greeted among the guests. The self-service pub was then managed by Anni Aigner. Many guests still believe that this summer cabin was the authentic "old" WEISSE because of the bizarreness of the restaurant.
